President / CEO
Since co-founding PSC in 1990, Andrew Lauter has guided the growth of PSC to its present day success as one of the more profitable business and technology consulting firms in the middle-market sector. In his role as president, he provides the overall leadership and day-to-day management, drives the sales and marketing direction, and oversees internal systems and administration. His 15 years of consulting experience has helped companies handle change in the e-Commerce and supply-chain management sectors. In December 2001, Mr. Lauter led the acquisition of Carlson’s Application Business Unit (formerly New Resources Corporation) that increased office locations to four, nearly doubled the firm’s consultants and increased annual revenues to more than $15 million. Since then, he has made several smaller acquisitions as PSC continues to grow in an otherwise shrinking market.
Previously, Mr. Lauter has held positions of increasing responsibility, including consulting and technical services manager, for Whittman-Hart, a Chicago-based information technology consultancy. During his tenure, he directed field consultants and large projects for Abbott Laboratories and Tenneco Packaging, among other companies. Prior to Whittman-Hart, he guided programming initiatives for Colonial Hospital Supply of Lake Zurich, Ill and also worked for Rockwell Collins Inc. of Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Mr. Lauter is best known for his ability to ‘size up’ a business problem, ‘demystify’ the new technologies, and to help companies take advantage of today’s business solutions. He is one of Chicago’s best experts on back-end integration and systems architecture. His business acumen has led to operating PSC as a near-paperless business through the development and implementation of state-of the-art workflow solutions. He is also the creator and chief architect of the PSC’s enTouch© product line of business process and integration frameworks.
He is a frequent speaker at national user groups including COMMON, the professional association for users of IBM technology, and at Chicago area business and community forums. He is a member to The Executive’s Club of Chicago, The Technology Executives Club of Chicago, and IBM Corporation’s Small and Medium Business Advisory Board.
Mr. Lauter received his Bachelor of Science degree in computer science from the University of Iowa. He has a rich background in midrange systems, the IBM’s iSeries (AS/400) product line and is a proponent and early adopter of collaborative technologies including XML and the Lotus line of products.
