Collaboration and Workflow

The world has changed -- again. The realities of business have changed -- again. Companies are now focusing on only those technologies that will reduce cost by helping people and companies collaborate to do things faster, easier and smarter. Web 2.0 technologies are moving us beyond e-mail and into the world of true collaboration. With “hot” consumer products: Wiki’s, Blogs, Chat Rooms, and Instant Messaging -- the business community is poised to make its next major technological upgrade.  But don't be seduced by all this "cool" technology.

Collaboration is all about humans.  All business starts and stops with humans.  And humans, as we all know, waste time.  And time is money.

The new expectation is to bring all participants in the business process together with the information they need (at their fingertips) -- in a “single” virtual place. The new collaboration model is focused more on individual behavior – meeting, talking,
sharing, reading -- than on the enabling technology.  It is all about making each person more productive.  This is not so much a giant leap forward as it is a complete change in the way we think about managing activities and conducting day-to-day business.

To help you decide which products, vendor platforms, and data sources are the best fit for your business, PSC has prepared What is Your Collaboration Strategy -- a thoughtful discuss of where we are today, how we got there, and how to move forward to the next generation of collaborative technology.
